FIREFLY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority. In order to keep everyone safe, we are implementing strict measures to prevent the spread of the virus. In addition to the guidelines offered by the CDC and local authorities, we are also taking additional precautions that will make our camp one of the safest summer activities around.
1. Limited number of campers
Our camper to counselor ratio is 6:1 or better and the kids will be spread out over the 6 outdoor tennis courts and all other outdoor areas.
2. Restricted group contact
In order to minimize the number of people each camper comes into contact, each group of kids will stay together the entire week and be supervised by the same counselor. Interaction with other groups will be restricted and the maximum number of kids per group will be six.
3. Cleaning and disinfecting
Our equipment, including tennis balls, will be disinfected every day before campers arrive. Each group of campers will only use their own equipment and will not share anything with other groups. Campers and counselors will have to wash their hands often throughout the day.
4. Checking for symptoms
Everyone, staff and campers, will be required to take their temperature daily and report if they had any symptoms in the last 10 days. If anyone shows any symptoms, they will be required to stay at home for at least 10 days or provide proof of negative test results.
5. We will have fun
Our children have been suffering from high levels of stress and isolation and this can affect brain development, sometimes with irreparable long-term consequences. Children thrive when they are safe and protected, when family, friends, and community connections are stable and nurturing.
We will keep them safe. We will guide them through a summer of fun. We will help them claim their childhood back.
